scaling the granola peak

Yesterday, for the first time in my life, I got a hankering for some granola cereal and, lo and behold, made some. The earthy-crunchy crowd may snicker at so late an arrival to the world of the earthy crunchy, but I'm old enough to look foolish without feeling it's anything out of the ordinary.

I enjoyed making it and it tastes good and costs a hell of a lot less than what is sold in supermarkets. The hardest part was finding the willingness to collect the various ingredients. As far as I can see, you can put damn near anything in the mix. It looks a bit like pig fodder, but it tastes good.

After the ingredients, there's a little elbow grease, a little baking and voilĂ .

Now if I could summon the energy to figure out how to make a Marsala sauce -- something I could add to damn near anything -- my comestible life would probably be complete.
