time

.
Two days ago, my right hip did not ache and the fourth toe on my left foot went unnoticed. Today is a different story, with sharp pain in the hip and a toe that feels broken, though I don't know how.

Here in the U.S., the clocks were set back one hour early this morning and so what was 7:38 a.m. yesterday is 6:38 today. Nothing has changed and yet things have changed: The dawn's light is the same as it might have been yesterday, but the time is different.

Buddhists may prattle about how "we" need to notice that everything changes, but how could anyone notice that when everything really does change?

This morning the Big Dipper was clear and crisp in the blackness of the predawn skies. Now, in the later light, it has disappeared.

Or has it?
