Mark Twain's father

.
Mark Twain wrote:

When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.
I wonder if it's true: Where parents or friends try to instill what is based on experience, there is a chance for a good result. But where they try to instill what is based on belief, calamity is bound to follow.
