cleaning out the Occupiers

.
My guess is that it's a domino effect: Portland, Oregon, and Oakland, California, cleared out the tents and protesters from their Occupy movements and now New York has done the same. Each administrative counterattack gives a certain permission to the other ... enough is enough and we have found credible 'reasons' for nipping things in the bud. If others have done it, I can do it too ... clean 'em out. Group-think is interesting and sometimes frightening stuff. New York's mayor covered his political ass by saying the protesters could come back after the park was cleaned up ... but only under stricter rules ... no tents, for example.

-- Organized religion may support the Occupy movement, but they are also wary of supporting it. Occupiers are likewise wary. Church and state ... both of them not entirely comfortable with the other's principles.
